Tips for Plus Size

For the Rectangle body shape (broad shoulders and thick middles):

  • Bold jewelry (to draw the eyes upward)
  • Fitted blazer (to slim the shoulders)
  • Wrap dress (to create a waist and add shape)
  • Flared skirt (to add curves)
  • Pointy-toed pumps (to lengthen legs)

For the Hourglass body shape (smallest part of body is waist):

  • V-neck tops (accentuate cleavage)
  • Swing coat (to hide hips)
  • Silky shirts (softens bustline without concealing curves)
  • Sweater around the neck (soften broad shoulders)
  • Ankle boots (to extend line of the leg)

For the Pear body shape (smaller torso, larger hips and derriere):

  • Wide necklines (to widen narrow shoulders)
  • Colorful, dangly jewelry (to draw attention to the face)
  • Fitted blazer with accentuated shoulders (to add shape to upper body)
  • Wide-leg pants (to accent smaller waist)
  • Blouse with collar up (creates width)
