McDonald’s Vs Prada

FAST food chain McDonald’s is suing.

The city of Milan after being forced out of its upmarket Milanese destination by Prada. The eatery has held residence in the city’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping arcade for over 20 years and is to be replaced by the another Prada boutique (the label already has one shop in the opulent location), – a brand arguably more in keeping with its neighbouring stores, which include Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

McDonald’s is now seeking €24 million (£19.5 million), in damages over unfair public tender allegations, claiming clauses were in place that stated the restaurant was exempt from closure. The chain also maintains that it was the only business is the Galleria not to receive first rights of refusal on a new rental contract.

“We don’t want to fight with the city, but we were kicked out unfairly,” Italian McDonald’s chief executive Roberto Masi told The Financial Times.
